  1. Streaming is good if your viewers have the bandwidth. Have you also catered for recordings of the presentations that can be viewed later? Some people may realise later that they have missed out on such an event and would probably be able to benefit from having the video streams available for viewing, somewhere.
I am not enough of a subject expert to be present at this meeting, but would like to have a peek to see what goes on there, so I can make a case for next time, either for myself or for others whom I think may benefit from interaction with this group.

we are going to make all presentations, abstracts, photos available on our slideshare and flickr.

Ustream was an experiment from Nairobi and is being well received by many even in low bandwidth locations. Next time we will look into possibly recording and storing.

Will also write more posts and interviews. Trying to make our conferences increasingly open to those who cannot attend.

    Cheers, Enrica

  3. Enrica,
Thank for the response. Definitely appreciate the initiatives to make the conferences more open and accessible.
Looks like I am one of those with ‘really poor bandwidth’ in the office, although I am connected. Anyway, we need to keep reminding ourselves that some of our stakeholders are still not as fortunate as we are (as it happened to me at a national workshop last week) and to keep our materials available such that it can cross ‘the last mile’ eventually.
    Krishan
