The recently concluded ShareFair in Cali was a huge success and generated a number of posts on the ICT-KM Program’s blog. To help give you a more complete picture of this week-long event, we’ve consolidated the various posts for easy reading.
Find out what happened on the first day of the ShareFair, which saw 200 participants from 18 countries representing 70 institutions coming together on the CIAT campus. The day unfolded with a training session on knowledge sharing tools, a seminar on Google Apps, a workshop on holding effective meetings, several sessions on working with blogs and Twitter, discussions about Open Access, web portals and participatory research, and much, much more.
Throughout the event, Web 2.0 tools, like a blog, Flickr, Delicious, etc., enabled many others to participate virtually and keep up to date with the various sessions and seminars.
Our thanks go to Claudia Calderon and Maria Fernanda Mejia, young CIAT professionals who covered the ShareFair’s many activities as they happened and made their reports available for all to read on the event’s blog.
Posts about the event didn’t stop with the Fair’s conclusion either. For example, you can read all about the data collected during the event in Geek Talk time after the ShareFair Cali. This informative post tells us how many online mentions the event generated, the quantum of Tweets that were twittered, the number of people who visited the Fair’s official blog …
Then there is Sharing, connecting and building relationships, a heartfelt post from one of the participants who watched the Fair’s opening ceremony via a videoconference between Cali and Rome, which has her reminiscing about her experiences with the first ShareFair held in Rome last year
Kudos to all our bloggers for a job well done!
