New Team Member

The ICT-KM Program is happy to announce that Shawn Landersz has recently joined the team as a part-time Program Assistant. While continuing his work with Bioversity's Administration Group, Shawn will assist the team in implementing System-wide projects. More about Shawn in the next issue of ICT-KM News.

ICARDA Awards

The recipients of ICARDA's "Staff of the Year 2006" awards include Hashem Abed, Scientific Databases Specialist, and members of the Network & Desktop Support Team (Colin Webster, Michael Sarkisian, Mousa Tawaifi, Basel Gozem and Waddah Khairallah), some of whom were also actively involved in the ICT-KM Program's Enterprise Security & Business Continuity Project. KM4Dev Workshop

The ICT-KM Program’s Knowledge Sharing (KS) Project will take part in a KM4Dev (Knowledge Management for Development) workshop from 18-20 June 2007 in Zeist, The Netherlands. The Project will participate actively in the development of a basic KS curriculum as part of a collaborative initiative with other leading KS organizations working in international development. Egypt-Bound

In June, the ICT-KM Program will travel to Cairo, Egypt, to give a presentation at a conference organized by the Global Development Network, African Capacity Building Foundation, and the World Bank. Entitled “Knowledge Management as an Enabler of Change and Innovation” the conference has attracted policymakers and knowledge management practitioners from around the globe.



G&D Get-Together

The ICT-KM Program will participate in the CGIAR Gender and Diversity Program’s annual associates meeting to be held at ICRISAT, India, at the beginning of June, A workshop held during the meeting will equip participants with the necessary know-how to champion their respective organization’s G&D goals.



ICTD Conference in Bangalore

The International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies and Development (ICTD2007), which is to be held in Bangalore, India, from 15 - 16 December 2007, will provide a forum for academic researchers working with ICT applied to development.
