Online Learning
Resources
All CGIAR Centers are active in training, education and learning and
can greatly benefit from closer collaboration in several learning areas as
well as in the development and dissemination of CGIAR learning resources.
The Online Learning Resources project aims to make such resources (being
global public goods) more easily accessible to all intended users
following internationally recognized standards and procedures. This
project also aims at creating a CGIAR training community of practice that
works closely together for the benefit of an international learning
community interested in agriculture and natural resources management.
Objectives To
develop a CGIAR ‘Online Learning Resources’ center that will allow an
international capacity strengthening community of practice, interested in
agriculture and natural resources management in the tropics, to enhance
the quality of their teaching and learning, and to promote inter-Center
collaboration in training, education and learning resources development
and dissemination. More specifically, this will be achieved by:
| • |
Contributing to the transfer of international public goods,
knowledge and technologies produced by the CGIAR Centers and their
collaborating partners in agriculture and natural resources
management. |
| • |
Developing learning resources and materials that reflect current
knowledge and recent advances in agriculture and natural resources
management, within the context of training and education in these
fields. |
| • |
Providing a coherent, harmonized platform and approach for
sharing these learning resources among Centers and partners. |
| • |
Strengthening the capacity of national program partners to
deliver agriculture and natural resources management training and
education and to contribute to a centralized learning resources
center. |
