Research and analyse CGIAR research project plans

The CGIAR was the best kept secret: with CGMap the secret is out!

CGMap is an innovative application that consolidates research project data from across the CGIAR Centers and makes it available via an easy-to-use interface. This online system provides a “map” that allows easy navigation through information on research and research-related activities that the CGIAR Centers and Challenge Programs publish in their Medium Term Plans (MTPs) every year. MTPs describe the research agenda of each Center and Program for a three-year period in relation to CGIAR System priorities.

CGMap recently teamed up with the CGIAR’s Regional Plan for Collective Action.  Their goal?  To put active research projects in East and Southern Africa (ESA) firmly on the map.  As a result, the prototype of the CGIAR Research in Africa Map has attracted interest from around the globe. Just by answering the simple question: “Who is doing what, with whom and where?”, the database has become  a source of key agricultural information in the region. As well as providing an overview of research carried out by CGIAR Centers, the map also provides enough information for users to carry out and publish periodic analysis of specific project information, such as the type of partners with whom the Centers collaborate, analysis of agricultural commodities in the Centers, etc.

Visit CGMap to discover the useful functionalities that are available. You can identify projects and view fact sheets with scientific and financial information; search for outputs and output targets in project logframes; and map projects by countries where research is planned, and by potential beneficiary countries.

Finding your way around is as easy as … well, following a map.
